About Ocelot Cottage

Located in the Hamptons hamlet of Amagansett, NY.  Ocelot Cottage is a quiet corner property steeped in quirky local history, about a ten minutes’ walk to the shops and dining of Amagansett Square, and a six minute bike ride to Indian Wells beach or the Balsam Farms fresh produce stand.

A simple mid-century style home, set in meticulously landscaped grounds, Ocelot features 1,250 SF of living space, 2 bedrooms (a primary and a double bunk room) and 2 bathrooms, all recently renovated.  There’s also a large basement/garage with a washer and dryer, along with a selection of well maintained bicycles with baskets and backpack-style beach chairs. The outdoors have a hammock, fire pit seating area, BBQ, and picnic table for idyllic outdoor living.

Built in 1953 by Harry and Catherine Cisin - Harry a publisher of technical books, Catherine one of the world’s leading authorities on ocelots (medium-sized spotted exotic cats) - the property doubled as the headquarters of the Long Island Ocelot Club for many decades.  In the fall of1962, The New York Times ran a front-page story about its annual convention there.

22 Interiors founder Lucie Ayres acquired Ocelot in 2022 with her husband Christopher, and they have lovingly restored it, keeping as many original details as possible.
